Jaguar’s selection was based on a number of criteria, including the capability to analyze large industrial sized models within a multi-processor parallel computing environment, the speed of the analysis in an automated process with minimal user interaction, and the technical leadership demonstrated by LMS in analyzing components subjected to high level multiaxial non-proportional loading. In addition, LMS was able to demonstrate the unique functionality of FALANCS to automatically identify the hot-spots in fast analysis times by using RP filtering and node elimination techniques. The structural analysis codes used as inputs to FALANCS are either MSC.Nastran(r) or SDRC I-DEAS(r), depending on the complexity of the structure.
The success at Jaguar extends the list of successful implementations of LMS FALANCS at companies like Audi, BMW, CRF- Fiat Research, DaimlerChrysler, Ford, Honda, Volvo Truck, VW, Johnson-Controls, TRW Lucas, Bosch, and ZF.
