This article presents a methodology for studying and modeling pneumatic train braking system. That system, characterized by a high complexity, is mainly composed of purely pneumatic components. Those components are designed to achieve specific functions of logical and power signals management. As a result, the behavior of these components is characterized by strong non-linearities. Using LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim it is possible to realize such a complex system models, starting from simple sub-models already present in the program libraries.
