Product Manager Modeling

Function description (roles / accountabilities):

The Product Manager Modeling will assist the product line manager in the product management/marketing of the LMS Virtual.Lab Modeling suite and the major customer software projects and delivery. The Virtual.Lab Modeling products include a multi-solver pre/post processor for linear and non-linear analysis driving Nastran and Abaqus, solutions for attribute specific full vehicle assembly modelling and technology tools for concept modelling and fast vehicle optimization. The function includes the following tasks:

Product Business Responsibility:
The product manager will assist in the achievement of the yearly business targets and 3Y business plans mainly through regional deal support: interaction, follow-up and drive product business opportunities via regional pre/sales & sales teams. The product manager will also be involved in the follow-up of the deployment in major accounts.
Pre-Sales & Sales Empowerment:
The Product Manager will play a very important role in the execution of the yearly training program for the pre-sales team and the new hires sales training. He/she will make sure the pre-sales members make progress and will assist them also by making new demo/benchmark cases and posting them on the intranet.
Product Marketing & Launch (PCP):
The Product Manager will support the execution of the Product Creation Process: in getting and writing software requirement documents and bringing the product to market as a fully released product. The latter includes milestone testing, making sure all the marketing collelaterals are available on-time and on-quality and that early visibility customers are identified, early visibility tests are executed and customer quotes are collected. He/she will also be involved in the support of the corporate marketing programs.
Major software development projects:
The Product Manager will be involved in large software development projects, incl. process audit, gathering requirement, proposal creation, follow-up of the proposal as it proceeds…
Creating Leverage by Partnering:
Partnering across the CAE Division Product Lines to create croo product opportunities. Partnering with LMS Vertical Business Units (VBU’s) & Engineering Services (ES), external technology suppliers…
Identify and support (provide input) funded RTD opportunities.

Desired:

Educational Level: Mechanical/Electrical/Civil/Aerospace Engineering
Experience:
- Preferably 2-5 years of experience (automotive/aerospace) with finite element analysis for linear and/or non-linear analysis, incl. meshing.
- Knowlegde on automotive and/or aerospace processes wrt general finite element analysis.
- Experience with product management or project management is not required, but seen as benefit.
- Ability to create marketing related material.
- Strong communication & enterpreneurship
Specific technical competencies:
- Good practical experience with at least one industry standard pre/post processor like Hypermesh, Ansa, Medina or Patran)
- Good practical experience with Nastran as finite element solver, knowledge of Abaqus and/or Ansys is beneficial.
- Good knowledge of meshing for automotive and/or aespace applications.
- Knowledge of CATIA V5 geometry or other experience with geometry creation/editing is a benefit.
