Pressure components are most of the time difficult to design since they involve an inner mechanical control loop. The pressure servovalve presented in this paper was mainly design by simulations. Reusability of existing technologies or existing parts coupled to simulations enable to reduce test and time development by 25 % as well as the number of prototypes (only two were developed). After the introduction of the pressure valve and the comparisons between experiments and simulations, the well known V-cycle of a product is presented using the pressure valve design process. Simulation and software tools are presented as an essential feature of this design process.
