The LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim Suite

LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim, the integrated platform for 1D multi-domain system simulation

LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim offers a complete 1D simulation suite to model and analyze multi-domain, intelligent systems and to predict their multi-disciplinary performance.  The components of the model are described by analytical models representing the hydraulic, pneumatic, electric or mechanical behavior of the system. To create the system simulation model in LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim, the user can make use of a large set of validated libraries of pre-defined components from different physical domains. The software creates a physics based model of the system, which doesn’t require a full 3D geometry representation. This approach gives LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim the capability to simulate the behavior of intelligent systems long before detailed CAD geometry becomes available.

Dedicated industry solutions accelerate engineering loops

LMS Imagine.Lab offers an extensive set of application specific solutions which comprise a dedicated set of application libraries and focus on delivering simulation capabilities to assess the behavior of specific subsystems. The current portfolio includes solutions for internal combustion engines, transmissions, thermal management systems, vehicle systems dynamics, fluid systems, aircraft ground loads, flight controls, and electrical systems. The solutions combine strong simulation capabilities, effective interfaces with leading CAE solutions and advanced tools to study the static/dynamic functional behavior of any component or system in a graphical, user-friendly environment.

Frontloading simulation at the very early stage of the design

The LMS Imagine.Lab application specific solutions allow users focus on their design and engineering issues, without having to extensive time in creating and validating models. Suppliers can model, simulate and validate components early in the design process and provide a virtual functional mock-up of components or subsystem to the OEM. Manufacturers are then able to simulate the integration of suppliers’ components and sub-systems in order to match the product functions specifications and validate key design choices.

The preferred 1D system simulation platform

LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim has been adopted as the preferred 1-D system simulation platform by major OEMs and suppliers in the Automotive, aerospace mechanical industries worldwide. The reference list include companies like General Motors, Toyota, Renault, PSA Peugeot Citroën, , Bosch, Siemens, Delphi, Airbus, Embraer, Dassault, Snecma, Caterpillar, Komatsu, CNH…

The AMESim interactive graphical interface enables users to build complex, multi-domain system models. The resulting sketch is easily understandable and offers a logic representation of the system model under investigation. AMESim is based on a validated collection of components issued from different physical domains. AMESim focuses on physics-based building blocks, frees users from all numerical model creation and code writing tasks, and gives direct access to the analysis and the optimization of the design.

AMESet_Rev7_EM.jpgAMESet

AMESet provides a comprehensive graphical user interface allowing users to extend AMESim libraries of components. AMESet is designed to assist users in writing well-documented, standardized, reusable and easily maintainable libraries. By following simple rules, component models will be fully compatible with the existing AMESim models and automatically usable on each supported platform.

AMECustom_Rev7_CS.jpgAMECustom

AMECustom is a customization tool that allows the adaptation of applications to the end-users’ requirements. With AMECustom, company-specific model databases can be built, with custom user interfaces and parameter sets. In addition, AMECustom offer the possibility to protect sensitive information and intellectual property before supplying models using encryption facilities.

AMERun_Rev7.jpgAMERun

AMERun is the ideal tool for engineers, technicians or sales persons who want to rapidly run and visualize different design scenarios. This run-only version of AMESim offers all the features available in the standard AMESim environment for setting model parameters and performing simulation and analysis. With AMERun, engineers can share their validated, tested and customized AMESim models with non-experts to analyze and visualize different design alternatives.

AMESim Libraries:

To create the system simulation model in LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim, the user can make use of a large set of validated libraries of pre-defined components from different physical domains. The large set of libraries eliminates the need for extensive code writing and enables development teams to make complex system models that cover multiple physical domains. The AMESim libraries therefore accelerate model creation and free up time to optimize designs. The library components are all completely validated and guarantee the accuracy and the reliability of simulation results.

AMESim offers libraries for:

  • Control: Signal, Control & Observers
