LMS Virtual.Lab Structural Analysis for ANSYS

LMS Virtual.Lab Structural Analysis for ANSYS provides a general pre- and postprocessor for ANSYS. It allows engineers to analyze components and subsystems for general performance using ANSYS, including for solutions beyond what is available in the CATIA V5 simulation environment.
This solution includes all the mesh modification tools and the analysis driver for a general pre- and post-processing. It supports general and specific analysis cases, such as:

  • Static Analysis Case - linear static analysis
  • Modal Analysis Case
The easy-to-use interface guides the user to import a finite element mesh or start from a finite element mesh from CATIA/GPS; check mesh quality and/or complement or modify the mesh; apply the correct boundary conditions and loads; define the appropriate analysis; launch the solver and conduct postprocessing.

Features

  • Comprehensive Ansys interface (import of model, loads, restraints, groups…)
  • Mesh verification (free nodes, duplicate element, numbering conflicts…) and mesh quality tools (min/max length, skew angle…)
  • Mesh modification tools (creation, edit and delete of axis systems, nodes, elements, properties, materials…)
  • General dedicated Ansys analysis cases (static analysis, modal analysis, harmonic response analysis…)
  • Comprehensive post-processing

Benefits

  • Perform general analysis on component and subsystem level
  • Ensure analysis results consistency, by using the same environment & the same solver for general analysis and specialist analysis, including full vehicle simulation
  • Perform component and subsystem analysis with more realistic boundary conditions by applying measured loads to the FE model
  • Perform analysis much earlier in the development process, allowing more impact on design directives
  • Facilitate teamwork throughout the design process, by giving the designer access to the same analysis codes and environment as the specialists
