LMS Virtual.Lab FEA Pre/Post
LMS Virtual.Lab FEA Pre/Post is the standard configuration for the simulation engineer performing linear, non-linear or crash finite element analysis using industry-standard solvers, like Nastran (MD, MSC, NX, NEi), Abaqus, LS-DYNA and RADIOSS.
Multi-functional, the configuration lets users import models or meshes from industrystandard solver formats, check and fix quality aspects, perform additional mesh modeling like load attachment spiders, define or complement property and material definitions, set up load and boundary conditions, drive the preferred solver, and postprocess results using a variety of displays for the best possible insight.
Typically used for finite element analysis on imported component, sub-system or full vehicle models, this configuration is popular amongst simulation engineers who also appreciate the generic and solver-specific options to model nodal connections, spot, glue or seam weld connections and surface connections.
For companies outsourcing meshing or simulation engineers using dedicated standalone meshing engines, this configuration is the ideal pre- and post-processor for general multi-solver finite element analysis. Companies with CATIA V5-compliant meshing will benefit as well since this configuration features embedded pre-processing
and post-processing functionality and directly applicable geometry connection modeling.
This is also the standard plug-in configuration for more advanced modules like morphing or vehicle concept modeling.
Features Comprehensive pre-processing (mesh quality, model verification, nodes and elements, properties and materials, connections) Wide range of general and solverspecific analysis set ups Multi-solver pre-processing features for property, materials and connections Associative and non-associative modeling tools Comprehensive 2D and 3D post-processing, result processing and reporting Completely geometry and analysis associative Fully featured for Nastran, Abaqus, LSDyna & Radioss need optional product
Benefits
Improves integration between simulation disciplines by sharing the same environment Promotes consistency with solver interoperability Drastically speeds up engineering iterations and productivity by integrating processes in process trees Leverage previous investments in solvers and meshing capabilities in V5
