LMS TecWare Advanced Fatigue Life Prediction extends LMS TecWare with more advanced approaches for fatigue life prediction. It allows you to evaluate the impact of proportional and non-proportional constant and variable amplitude cycles on the components fatigue performance.
LMS TecWare’s efficient data import, load data cleaning and validation tools combined with dedicated strain gauge rosette analysis tools efficiently prepare the data for experimental fatigue life prediction.
The pseudo-damage model (basic stress-life approach with Woehler life curve and Miner’s elementary accumulation rule) as included in LMS TecWare Load Data Processing is typically used for relative assessment of dynamic loading scenarios. LMS TecWare Advanced Fatigue Life Prediction extends this stress-life based approach with different mean-stress correction models, surface correction and notch factors resulting in an accurate fatigue life estimate for high-cycle fatigue. It also includes the strain-life approach which takes into account local plasticity effects for evaluation of low-cycle fatigue. Both stress-life and strain-life make use of the LMS FALANCS solver – also used by LMS Virtual.Lab Durability. As such, the correlation of results between Test and CAE is facilitated, thus improving the accuracy of both processes and providing a basis for improved integration.
LMS TecWare Advanced Fatigue Life Prediction enables you to conduct a wide range of design sensitivity studies such as the variability of loading, materials, surface conditions and local geometry – and as such optimize your components’ fatigue performance. Through the LMS TecWare Batch based templates you can automate repetitive tasks and generate summary MS Word or html based reports.
