The LMS Test.Xpress FFT and Octave analyzer has transformed the classical spectrum and octave analyzers into a simple and fast troubleshooting tool. Thanks to its real-time oscilloscope capability, users can visually validate their measurement through time domain data, while measuring the FFT and Octave domain data in parallel. Operating on the LMS SCADAS Mobile front end, the software runs on a 4-channel unit offering up to 102.4 kHz sampling rate per channel, 24 bit resolution, 105 dB signal to noise ration, 2.2 Msamples/s throughput rate, various signal conditioning (V, ICP, MIC, charge & strain) – all bundled into a fully rugged and ultra portable front-end.
An integrated “gap-free” recording of time data, followed by automatic storage to disk gives users full access to the raw data for future reference and analysis. Advanced triggering capabilities with pre- and post-trigger allow the system to operate independently, and start data recording when a specific event occurs.
Efficient and effective processing functions enable narrow-band frequency analysis, real-time analysis of FFT’s, PSD’s, Crosspowers, FRF’s, coherences, etc. A basic modal testing using impact hammer or shaker excitation technique is supported to quickly determine resonances, damping values or harmonic content from the frequency spectrum. Furthermore, the LMS Test.Xpress FFT and Octave analyzer measures octave data according to the IEC or ANSI standards with 20kHz per channel bandwidth. It supports 1/1, 1/3rd, 1/6th, 1/12th and 1/24th octave filter functions that can be averaged.
The LMS Test.Xpress FFT and Octave analyzer offers various types of display formats to interactively (drag & drop) visualize and analyze incoming data. Direct measurement feedback is given through graphical 2D and 3D displays of time and frequency signals as well as optical feedback on trigger condition, measurement and overload statuses.
To satisfy novice and skilled engineers, the LMS Test.Xpress FFT and Octave analyzer is equipped with the “toolbar automation” tool. This allows you to pre-define a test with specific measurement settings, preferred data visualization format, appropriate numerical functions for data analysis and a company style report. The pre-defined measure-analysis-report are then executed in 3-click user interface.
Because of these flexibilities, the software can be used for a wide range of applications; from NVH troubleshooting / refinement work to data collection for data analysis or standardized company procedures.
